Search Tools

For faculty interested in conducting focused searches, FIU subscribes to the Sponsored Program Information Network (SPIN), which provides web-based information resources and searchable databases for federal and non-federal funding opportunities. This subscription includes the InfoEd Commerce Business Daily and a SPIN keyword thesaurus. The system also provides listings of upcoming deadlines and allows you to customize your own e-mail notifications of funding information using SMARTS. The  SMARTS systems can provide e-mail notifications of funding opportunities based on key words. To take advantage of SPIN and SMARTS, faculty will have to set up a profile within the SPIN system. For assistance with setting up a profile please contact research@fiu.edu.
